Join us for a delightful week of cookie magic! Learn the art of sugar cookie baking and decorating from start to finish.
 
Workshop Details:
Dates: Monday, June 24th - Friday, June 28th
and Monday, July 22nd - Friday, July 26
Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Host: Murrah McCoy, an elementary school teacher and cookie decorating instructor.
Location: Murrah's Home bakery in Concord, California near Treat Blvd. and Oak Grove Road.  Exact location will be emailed after registration. 
Participants: 6 budding cookie decorators per session
Age Range: Open to kids aged 8 - 15 years old. Age requirments vary per session, so please check all options when registering. 
Materials: Everything you need will be provided, including a daily snack
 
What to Expect:
Get ready to unleash your creativity and fall in love with cookie baking and decorating! Together we’ll explore the creative design process, learn the science of recipes and baking, mix up royal icing, and discover all the fun piping and decorating techniques. Murrah will guide you every step of the way in a hands-on, structured, and collaborative environment, and at the end of the week you will take home your very own set of decorated cookies!
 
About the Instructor:
Murrah McCoy brings a wealth of expertise to her workshops. With 14 years of experience as an elementary school teacher, coupled with her role as a mother of two, Murrah possesses a deep understanding of both educational principles and the intricacies of child development. Furthermore, her decade-long role as a summer camp director adds a layer of insight into fostering creativity and engaging young minds. In 2019, Murrah embarked on a new venture, opening Burnt Cookies by Murrah, a home bakery that specializes in intricately decorated sugar cookies and immersive cookie decorating classes. Her passion for teaching has taken her across the country, hosting classes at various venues, including prestigious events such as Cookie Con, the nation's largest sugar cookie conference, and an exclusive celebrity cookie class in the heart of Hollywood. Locally, Murrah teaches classes at the iconic San Francisco Ferry Building and through personalized private sessions. She's also decorated cookies on news shows, such as Fox Mornings on 2 and ABC 7 KGO. Murrah genuinely enjoys sharing her love for cookies and empowering others to discover their own creativity through the art of decorating.
